Walgreen Co. said Thursday that its drugstore clinics are expanding service beyond treating minor ailments like sinus infections. The clinics can now diagnose, treat and monitor chronic diseases.
The drugstore chain's Take Care Clinics now handle cases of diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol, among other conditions.
Walgreen, the nation's largest drugstore chain, runs 370 in-store clinics. Nearly half of the patients treated by these clinics have no primary care doctor.
