DENVER - Now is the time to consider choosing a new Medicare health and drug plan or switching to a different plan.
Open enrollment began Oct. 15 and runs until Dec 7.
To help you find a plan that is right for you www.medicare.gov offers a "Medicare Plan Finder."
If you'd rather talk with a person, you can call the Medicare's toll-free help line at (800) 633-4227.
In Colorado, the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) offers benefits counseling. That number is (888) 696-7213.
In Colorado there are 33 HMO, PPO, PFFS, Cost plans and 29 "Stand Alone" prescription drug plans, also known as "Part D."
Once you enroll, the new plans will take effect Jan. 1, 2013.
