DENVER – The first ever Colorado run/walk to fight Lymphedema and Lymphatic diseases is taking place this Sunday at Sloan’s Lake Park.

The run/walk is being presented by the Lymphatic Education and Research Network (LE&RN), BSN medical and Tactile Medical.

Participants will run/walk on behalf of the estimated 10 million Americans and 140 million worldwide who are fighting Lymphedemic diseases, according to a press release from organizers.

"It is a chronic condition that has to be managed daily," a UCHealth occupational therapist, said while explaining the disease. UCHealth has 20 certified Lymphedema therapists within its health system.

Online registration for the event is now closed, however supporters were encouraged to join the run/walk by registering in person.
