PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) — A Colorado mental illness and drug treatment program says it will temporarily close so its nurses work elsewhere in the hospital.

The Pueblo Chieftain reports state officials confirmed the move by Colorado Mental Health Institute in Pueblo Tuesday. Officials say the action will help with the hospital's staffing shortage.

CIRCLE is a 90-day residential program that treats patients suffering from addiction and mental illness at the same time. According to a statement by the state Department of Human Service, all patients will be transferred to other programs for the time being.

Officials have not said when the program would reopen.
