Wild Eggs' bananas Foster waffle

1 waffle
1 tablespoon butter
1 fresh banana, sliced
4 ounces bananas Foster sauce base (recipe below)
1 scoop Comfy Cow vanilla bean ice cream (or other good vanilla ice cream)

Bananas Foster sauce base:

1 pound whole butter
3 cups brown sugar
3/4 cup light Caro syrup
Salt, to taste
4 ounces dark rum
4 ounces banana liqueur
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon nutmeg
 

Garnish:
Powdered sugar
Cinnamon

Method of Preparation:
1. Bake waffle using your favorite recipe in waffle iron (you can substitute frozen waffles if you do not own a waffle iron).
2. While waffle is baking, add butter to small sauté pan or non-stick skillet and melt over medium heat.
3. Add sliced banana to pan and gently stir to coat all slices in butter.
4. Increase heat to medium-high and sauté banana until lightly caramelized on all sides, a minute or two.
***Be careful not to overcook banana slices, or they will become mushy and dissolve in sauce.
