DENVER - Some Broncos greats are becoming stars of the kitchen, serving up their foods to fans at Sports Authority Field.
Centerplate, the event hospitality partner with the Denver Broncos, uses local meats and breads in a number of menu items at two stadiums venues -- Mountain Village and the Mile High Legends Grille.
The "Mecklenburger" is named for former Broncos linebacker Karl Mecklenburg. The burger is grass-fed, local beef from Aspen Ridge with fresh baked rolls from Aspen Baking Company.
For every burger sold, Centerplate makes a donation to Karl's REACH Foundation, which helps local children reach their educational goals.
The Alpine Dog and Buffalo Bratwurst are made by Denver's Continental Sausage Company.
Condiments include Ed McCaffery's Rocky Mountain mustards and horseradish sauce.
The "Stinkin' Good" Green Chili is from former Broncos guard Mark Schlereth. It's served up on french fries.
Terrell Davis' barbecue sauce is used in the "Mile High Salute" BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches.
If you're luck enough to be in the club level for the AFC divisional playoff game Saturday, you can eat beef tenderloin Oscar with a wedge of lettuce or an Asian noodle bowl with shrimp.
