Celebrate Colorado's great outdoors with free event in Denver's City Park

Saturday, June 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

DENVER - Families are invited to explore all that Colorado has to offer at a free event Saturday, June 14 in Denver's City Park.

The park will be transformed into an adventure playground complete with fishing, biking, climbing and much more.

The free event is from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the southeast area of the park on East 17th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard.

An Expressive Arts Village features activities to teach children and families how to grow gardens, paint and sculpt.
 
At noon on the main stage, the governor will officially sign a proclamation recognizing June as Great Outdoors Month in Colorado.

After the proclamation, there will be a party to celebrate Smokey Bear's 70th birthday.

The party will be held under a 27-foot- talk Smokey Bear balloon.
