Jefferson County Schools set meetings, hire consultant for superintendent search

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. - Jefferson County Public Schools has scheduled a series of public meetings about the search for a new superintendent and hired a consultant to help.

The district hired a consultancy, Ray and Associates, Inc., to lead the search to replace Dr. Cindy Stevenson, who abruptly resigned last month. The Iowa-based company's website says it "specializes in educational executive leadership searches."

Stevenson announced her retirement in early February, tweeting "I can't lead and manage because I am not respected by this board. I can't make decisions. This board does not respect me."
