After six years as Douglas County Schools Superintendent, the district announced Tuesday that Elizabeth Celania-Fagen will be the new superintendent of the Humble Independent School District outside Houston, Texas.
Denver7 officially confirmed the information from the Humble Observer Tuesday night, as Fagen was announced as the sole finalist at the district's school board meeting.

“We are excited about getting the best education mind in the country,” Humble ISD School Board President Robert Sitton said. “It’s powerful what she is going to be able to do. When people talk about education, we want them to say, you really need to go see what Humble ISD is doing. She is, in our opinion, the leader to take us there.”
Fagen is expected to start in Humble, Texas over the summer and be in place by the start of the 2016-2017 school year.
Contract details are not immediately available because per Texas law, Fagen cannot be officially hired until 21 days after the announcement that she is the sole finalist.
