4th of July: Every street closure in Denver you need to know about as you celebrate

DENVER – As you prepare to celebrate Independence Day, be aware of some street closures that could impact your travel plans around downtown Denver.

Sunday, July 2: Beginning at 6 a.m. until 6 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4, Bannock Street will be closed between Colfax and 13th Avenue. This closure also includes the Bannock Street Bike Lane.

Monday, July 3: From 8 a.m. until 11 p.m., Cherokee Street will be closed between Colfax and 13th Avenues.

Beginning at 8 a.m. until 3 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4, 14th Avenue will be closed between Delaware and Broadway. This also includes the 14th Avenue Bike Lane.

Then, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., Broadway will be closed between Colfax and 14th Avenues. Note: There may be a full temporary closure during the Independence Eve firework show from 9:15 p.m. until 10:30 p.m along Colfax Avenue between Cherokee and Bannock Streets.

Consider taking public transportation

Denver Public Works urges to public to consider taking public transportation if doing business in downtown Denver over the next three days.

Information on nearby B-cycle bike-sharing locations is available at denver.bcycle.com.

For those driving to the fireworks show, Denver Public Works officials say parking is available at nearby surface lots and parking garages, including the Cultural Garage at 12th and Broadway, the Denver Justice Center Garage at 490 W. 14th Ave., and Central Parking lots/garages at 1530 Cleveland Place, Denver Pavilions (15th & Welton ), 1256 Delaware, 1440 Tremont, 1200-1300 blocks of Cherokee and 1745 Sherman. 

A close-in drop-off location will also be accessible from eastbound Colfax in front of the McNichols Civic Center Building at144 W. Colfax Avenue.
