A man was charged Tuesday with breaking into a Denver home to drink beer from the refrigerator and to steal a clean shirt in the dryer, the district attorney's office said.

Glenn House, 37, was charged with second-degree burglary.

Prosecutor say House snuck into a home in the 900 block of south Harrison Street by taking a screen off an open kitchen window and crawling inside. He allegedly helped himself to a beer in the refrigerator and a clean shirt that was in the dryer, prosecutors said.

The homeowner and his girlfriend were in the bedroom when they realized that a man was watching them. The victim chased House and, with the help of a neighbor, held the suspect still until police arrived and arrested him.

House remains in custody in the Denver County Jail. His bond is set at $10,000. He is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court on June 7, 2007.
