Police say a black bear was spotted again on the northwest side of the city about 5 p.m. Tuesday

ARVADA, Colo. - Arvada residents are being cautioned about a black bear seen roaming the northwest side of the city on Tuesday.

The bear, first spotted in a tree near at West 66th Lane & Union Street Trail late in the morning, was spotted again in that area about 5 p.m, Arvada police said via Twitter.

Police said Arvada Animal Management officers were monitoring the situation and asked residents to "remain alert and keep pets inside."

"Please don't approach [the bear]," Police tweeted earlier. "Please take your pets inside and call 911 if you spot him," police said on Facebook.
