A new heat treatment has been created to help clear up pimples. It's called Zeno and it uses heat to get rid of blemishes. It was created to tackle pimples as soon as they pop up.

"It's the very first FDA approved medical device to treat acne," a dermatologist said.

Heat destroys bacteria that bring about 90 percent of all acne blemishes.

"We put a very specific temperature for a very specific time on the pimple and in 90 percent of the cases it's gone in 24 hours," Zeno inventor Robert Conrad said.

When a person feels a pimple coming on, they can activate the heating unit in the Zeno and hold it on the trouble spot for two minutes.

"It's more to treat that on-coming acne very early in the cycle," said facial plastic surgeon Peter Schmid.

"I can depend on this getting rid of my pimple or blemish, literally in 24 to 48 hours which is great," said customer Georgia Viret.

"I've found that usually each pimple needs just one treatment," another customer said.

Zeno users say the hand-held device is also painless and convenient.

"You can use it at home. You can stick it in your purse. You can have it in your car and it's about the size of an I-POD or cell phone," Viret said.

The Zeno retails for around $225 and customers say it's well worth it.

Viret said, "This was something that I felt over time was definitely worth it, and per treatment, it's very reasonable, very reasonable!"
