DENVER -- State lawmakers will consider a proposed statewide ban today -- which could prohibit lighting up in bars and restaurants around Colorado.

The big question for legislators is whether to approve exemptions to some facilities, including restaurants in small communities that claim a smoking ban would hurt their business.

A similar proposal was killed in the Senate last spring when some Republicans fought it on grounds that it was anti-business.
