Bus, Beer Truck Crash On I-70 Turns Fatal

A five-vehicle crash involving a bus and a beer truck killed one driver and shut down eastbound Interstate 70 near Federal, causing quite a traffic backup during the evening commute.

The pickup truck driver who was killed has not been identified.

A spokesman with the Regional Transportation District said that the bus was rear-ended. The RTD bus had not started service yet so there were no passengers on board. The bus driver was not hurt and was not at fault, RTD spokesman Scott Reed.

Because of the chain-reaction crash, traffic was backed up to Wadworth. Cars were diverted onto Federal Boulevard.
