Race For Cure Targets Breast Cancer

Link Between Smoking, Breast Cancer Stronger

POSTED: 4:28 pm MDT September 29, 2005

Researchers say the connection between smoking and breast cancer is growing stronger.

Smoking a pack of cigarettes a day for more than a decade can incrase your chances of getting the disease by up to 40 percent.

If you're a smoker who is also taking the hormones estrogen and progestin, your chances increase 110 percent.

By the way, the Race For The Cure is this Sunday at the Pepsi Center. Race day starts at 6 a.m.

The first competitive race begins at 7 p.m., followed by the more popular fun runs and walks.

For more information, visit the Race For The Cure Web site.
