With the failure of a proposal to ban smoking statewide city council members in two Colorado cities are trying to convince other cities to ban smoking in bars and restaurants.

Denver and Aurora city council members want to form a regional alliance to mirror the effect of the statewide ban.

They hope that would convince business owners that they would not lose customers to other cities.
