BROOMFIELD, Colo. -- Are you looking for a way to get rid of cellulite but don't want to get liposuction? Only one place in the Denver metro area is offering a new medical device that can reduce the appearance of cellulite. The office that offers the procedure says it's a new way to help smooth out the dimples and it doesn't require surgery.
"LipoLite is a procedure that is non-invasive liposuction," said Linda Fast with SpaMedica.Fast said 90 percent of all women have cellulite. Fast and the staff at SpaMedica in Broomfield perform LipoLite procedures using a machine called the VelaSmooth."It works on everybody -- any skin type, any fat type. It's a great procedure for anybody," said Fast. The machine uses three different ways to safely recontour the skin's surface."It pulls the fat to the surface with the suction and then the infrared light goes down into the fat and the bipolar radio frequency moves along and it helps to eliminate those fat cells," Fast said."It feels like getting a deep tissue massage. It's not painful at all," said Alison Hanby, a woman getting the LipoLite procedure.Hanby is midway through the eight-week process and she said she can already notice a difference."This whole midsection seems to have gotten thinner. My dimples are starting to go away subtlety," Hanby said. It's important to note that VelaSmooth does not get rid of cellulite -- that may require diet and exercise."It's not for weight loss. It smoothes out the dimples," Fast said. "It is for tightening of the skin and people are seeing 60 to 80 percent tightening. We are seeing that people say their clothes are fitting a lot looser and they are much more comfortable in what they are wearing."The technology has been in Canada and Europe for years and is now making its way into the United States and Colorado.More Information:
