Get A Salad Bar At Your School
Donate Now Or Apply For Grant

DENVER -- How would you like to get a healthy salad bar installed at your child's school?Whole Foods and chef Ann Cooper want to put a healthy salad bar in each community surrounding a Whole Foods store in the U.S. That's almost 300 schools.You can help by donating to your local store and also by helping a school of your choice to apply for a grant.
Whole Foods said its shoppers have already donated $679,093.61, 90 percent of the program’s campaign goal of $750,000.Grant application will be taken until Nov. 1, 2010.Public schools within a 50-mile radius of any Whole Foods Market can apply online at SaladBarProject.org. Schools selected to receive free salad bar kits will be announced by Jan. 15 and salad bar kits will be shipped within a month.7NEWS is proud to sponsor the Go, Slow, Whoa project to teach children how often they should eat certain foods to stay healthy. Kids are encouraged to eat GO foods almost anytime, SLOW foods sometimes, and WHOA foods once in a while or as special treats.Go, Slow, Whoa was created in partnership with Livewell Colorado and the Aurora Public Schools.
