Six more people have died from the flu in Colorado, bringing the total this season to 20.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment released the new toll Wednesday. It's not yet clear how many of the most recent deaths were from swine flu, also known as H1N1, and how many were from seasonal flu.

Officials say nearly 1,060 people have been hospitalized with all types of influenza in Colorado this season, including nearly 580 confirmed swine flu cases.

The new totals are from Aug. 30 through last Saturday.

Forty-eight percent of those hospitalized with all types of flu in Colorado were 24 and younger.

Nationwide, swine flu is worst in that age group as well, accounting for more than half the hospitalizations for that strain.
