When it comes to Acid Reflux, it isn't just the foods you eat that can trigger the heartburn feeling.

There are several other factors that can contribute to the condition.

They including limiting your intake of acidic foods and drinks; eating smaller, more frequent meals; do not to eat several hours before bedtime; and belts or clothes that are too tight around the waist can also increase Acid Reflux.

And, of course, do not smoke.

Dr. Luette Morton with National Jewish Health said smoking "does stimulate acid production in your stomach and relaxes the valve betwen stomach and esophagus, allowing stomach contents back into the esophagus".
