A Western Colorado town is offering its residents a free discount card to help combat the rising cost of prescription drugs.

Officials in Montrose County said they will offer the card regardless of age, income or existing health care coverage, reported KJCT.

The card is accepted at all Montrose County pharmacies and offers a savings of up to 20 percent. It will even work for pet medications.

Cardholders will be able to use it anytime their prescriptions are not covered by insurance.

There is no enrollment form, membership fee or limits on how many times patients can use the card, which are available at Health and Human Services offices.
