FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- An alternative treatment for scoliosis has patients singing its praises.Scoliosis is an abnormal curvature of the spine which impacts about five percent of the population.Fort Collins chiropractor Michael Farrell is trying out a new option to ease their pain.
Farrell said he is one the few doctors in Colorado offering a new treatment specifically for scoliosis."Really, one of the first steps in reducing scoliosis is actually restoring the normal curvatures in the spine, neck, mid and lower back," Farrell said. The treatment starts with warming up the muscles with vibration therapies and stretching exercises. Then Farrell uses traditional adjustments before using a scoliosis traction chair.Farrell said in one patient's case, after one year of treatment the curvature has been reduced 50 percent and that was a severe case. He said in less severe cases, the results are even more dramatic. To contact Dr. Farrell, call his office phone number at 970-226-1117Or you can read more at these Web sites: Clear Institute or Spine Correction Center.
