DENVER -- By now we all know the importance of exercise and eating right to help lose and maintain your weight. Now some experts want dieters to focus on feeding their mind. It's a no diet diet."It's more about listening to your body and eating more mindfully and consciously," said registered dietician Beth Jauquet with the Colorado Dietetic Association.According to Family Circle magazine, there are seven stress-free ways to trim down, by thinking about what you eat.
1. Calm your racing mind2. Tune into your body3. Eat more slowly4. Drive out distractions5. Focus on quality not quantity6. Don't swallow your feelings7. Banish self-sabotage"I think many people over-eat because they're unaware of what they're eating. Maybe they're multi-tasking, maybe they're eating while they're driving," said Jauquet.Jauquet said by being more aware of what and why you eat, you can help control cravings and shed some pounds over time.
