DENVER -- The University of Colorado Cancer Center opened its doors 20 years ago this year. Since 1971, when the National Cancer Act was passed, UCCC has grown into one of the most well-respected regional cancer centers around the country.Today, there are more than 300 members at the cancer center. It's funded through many different government agencies and grant funds. The goal of UCCC still remains the same: to eliminate the cancer problem. The latest studies are promising, showing that two-thirds of cancer patients are surviving.
Around the country, there are more than 10 million people who are cancer survivors. UCCC continues to help lead the fight against cancer with more research and clinical trials now than ever before.
