DENVER -- Hollywood's hottest starlets have a secret they don't want you to know about: You can have the same long, sexy eyelashes you see them sporting on magazine covers.People can get the lashes without a movie star's make-up artist or a lot of money."Many of Hollywood's A-list celebrities are wearing lash extensions," said Xtreme Lashes president Jo Mousselli. "Most of them are like most women -- they want to appear naturally beautiful. They don't want the world to know what they are doing to enhance their looks."
"It's very, very beautiful when you see the finished work," said Veanessa Burbage of Affordable Enhancement in Littleton. It's a simple procedure called eyelash extension and it has been available in Colorado for about one year."They will last two to four weeks once you have your first application," said Burbage. The tiny synthetic lashes are glued on one by one. After 24 hours the glue is good to go and the lashes will look great for weeks."People can go about their normal lives, they can swim, they can cry, they can sleep," said Burbage.Another plus with the procedure is that mascara is no longer needed."Mascara tends to smudge under the eyes and a lot of the ladies just abhor that," said Burbage. "You can wake up in the morning and look and feel beautiful with your long lashes."Burbage said some of her clients have been cancer patients who have lost their lashes after chemo. Many are women just wanting to look and feel a little better about themselves. It costs about $200 for the first set of lashes and $30 to $70 for touch-ups.To learn more about the eyelash extension procedure, visit xtremelashes.com or visit www.AffordableEnhancements.com.
