Welcome To Going Green And My Blog

Hi Colorado Green Enthusiast,

Welcome to The Denver Channel.com's Going Green page! You've now entered my blog, Green Altitude. My name is Katie and I will be your tour guide on your journey to a greener lifestyle one mile above sea level and a couple more thousand feet.

My ambition for this blog: to share information, ideas, stories and occasionally a philosophy on environmental issues happening in Colorado. I'm deeply passionate about taking care of our Earth and I hope my devotion to preserving her and her inhabitants inspires you to become greener in your daily life.

My main focus will be on how to be green and greener in Colorado. In the six years I've lived here, previously living in the South all of my life, I've noticed some green methods that are not applicable in Colorado's unique climate.

For instance, composting can be challenging when your compost pile is covered by two feet of snow. Be prepared, I will tackle that issue in the coming winter months. Hopefully, someone out there has a brilliant solution they would love to share with everyone.

On the other hand, Colorado has numerous benefits such as an abundance of sunlight year round, cooler temperatures when most of the country is sweltering and, best of all, lots of eco-friendly minded people who love to be outdoors. Heck, it's why I moved here.

I hope you're intrigued to keep climbing with me as I journey to find a greener Colorado.
