June 28th: Meatball Sliders
Meatball SlidersThis is our classic meatball recipe with the addition of raisins, and the meatballs are a bit smaller. Perfect for summer picnics or when you unexpected guests arriving.
In a medium bowl combine all the following and let sit in fridge for a few minutes so the bread cubes can soak a bit.
-1lbs ground beef (not leaner than 90/10)
-1 lbs spicy Italian sausage
-1/4 cup golden raisins
-1 cup fresh bread cut into small cubes
-2 eggs
-1 jar of your favorite tomato sauce
-dinner rolls, split
-burger toppings
make small meatballs, large enough to fit inside dinner rolls. Fry the meatballs in oil, in the same large pot that you will finish cooking. Once all the meatballs are quickly fried for color, return to the pot, add your tomato sauce and ½ cup warm water, close lid and let cook thoroughly on medium -high heat. Approx 20 minutes.
