Tip: Oregano

Oregano should be used in moderation because it has a pungent flavor; this is especially true for Mexican oregano, which is stronger than Mediterranean oregano. When buying the fresh herb, look for bright green, fresh bunches with no sign of wilting or yellowing. Store it, unwashed, in a plastic bag in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
