Ross's DogBlog -- A Personal Favor
Chapter 50
August 20, 2009So many of you have sent kind comments about our missing kitty, Dash - thank you! He is still missing and my family is very sad. We've spent a lot of time walking around the property and the surrounding neighborhoods, going to shelters in person and looking at shelters online for Dash, but so far no luck.It about kills Marianne to go to the shelters in person because she wants to bring all the kitties home with us. "Well, why not?" I asked. "Why not adopt another kitty? I'll help you pick one out!"
"We will adopt another cat, especially since Dewey is so lonesome for Dash," Marianne assured me, "But I'm not quite ready yet. I'm still hoping that Dash will come home.""So, we'll have THREE kitties if Dash comes home. Won't that be great?" I wagged my tail hopefully."HA," Marianne snorted. "Talk to John. He says that two cats and two keeper dogs plus one CCI puppy-in-training is plenty for our family, and he's probably right." She sighed wistfully, "Still, there are so many wonderful kitties in shelters needing homes right now that it is a temptation to push the limit."It's true! My friends at the Dumb Friends League, Table Mountain Animal Shelter and Almost Home Adoptions (where our kitty Dewey came from) are at peak capacity for cats, dogs and small pets like rats, bunnies, Guinea Pigs, ferrets, etc. Other area shelters are in similar circumstances. Many are having special events this month, like the Adopt-A-Thon this Saturday from 11-5 at Almost Home Adoptions. Click on "events" on their website for details. Please do me a HUGE favor and think about adopting a furry friend, won't you? Check out my Pet Pals and see if someone doesn't grab your heart! Or go to the individual shelter's website or check out Pet Finder. I guarantee your new family member is out there, just waiting for you to show up!Chow for now!RossQuestions or comments for Ross?
