Ross's DogBlog - Drowning In Kittens

Chapter 41

Remember when Marianne brought home a new kitty from the shelter called Almost Home Adoptions? I wrote about him in Chapter 27. We named him Dewey Decibel and he's a beloved member of the family now.

Anyhow, we got an e-mail this week from the shelter because they are "drowning in kittens!" They sent photos of a few of the many kittens they have that are ready for adoption into their forever homes.

"Ohhh, let's get one!" I exclaimed. "They're so cute!"

"Um, no, sorry Ross," Marianne said. "Our limit is two cats, and we have Dash and Dewey." She peered at the photos. "They sure are cute, though."

"Well, someone needs to adopt them!" I huffed. "I know, I'll do a quick DogBlog and get the word out."

So I called Almost Home Adoptions for more information. To my utter dismay, I was told that someone dropped off a box full of kittens at the shelter. Not only that, they did it on a day that the shelter was closed (and their hours of operation are clearly posted on the door!) And worse, the box was TAPED SHUT WITH NO AIR HOLES. Poor kittens! It makes me feel woozy just thinking about it.

Humans! You make me so mad sometimes. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR. You make me want to bite something. Hard.

At any rate, the kittens must have good guardian angels because they survived and are ready for new homes. The shelter has lots and lots of kittens, plus many adult cats looking for people to love them. You can check them out at Almost Home Adoptions. Their days and hours of operation are posted on the website, too. If you have questions you can call the shelter at 303-432-2299.

If you adopt one, will you let me know?

Chow for now!
