Ross's DogBlog -- Bear Hugs
Chapter 34
May 9, 2009We took an interesting outing today to a new place called Build-A-Bear Workshop. There were about a zillion little girls there for a birthday party and many of them stopped to pet me and rub my tummy and tell me how cute I am. What a great store! But it turns out there was an even better reason to visit the Workshop, other than to meet and greet small children.
Here's the deal: During the entire month of May the Build-A-Bear Workshop Bear Hugs Foundation will donate $1 from the sale of every stuffed dog in the Bearemy's Kennel Pals collection to Canine Companions for Independence. This is the second year that the Hugs Foundation has offered this partnership with CCI. Last year over $60,000 was raised! How amazing is that?!?So here's my challenge to you: Gather together your kids, friends, family and neighbors and make tracks to a Build-A Bear Workshop to build one of the adorable Kennel Pals. You have until May 31, but why not go today? You get a cuddly stuffed puppy and CCI receives $1. Everybody benefits! They even have a black Lab that looks just like me, and you can get nifty accessories like a collar and leash, dishes, a comfy bed and toys. You can also get hats, dresses, sunglasses and roller skates, but you wouldn't do that to my namesake, would you?Chow for now!RossQuestions or comments for Ross? Send him an e-mail!Would you like more information about Canine Companions for Independence or perhaps be a puppy raiser? Call 1-800-572-BARK or go to CCI for details.
