DENVER -- Feb. 14, 2008First of all, let me say how HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY we are at my house that Uno the Beagle won Westminster. Marianne is a big Snoopy fan (her PJs have Snoopy on them, for crying out loud) so Uno was the house favorite.Anyhow, if Westminster piqued your interest, the Rocky Mountain Cluster Dog Show runs Friday through Monday at the National Western Stock Show Complex. More dogs and vendors and activities than you can shake a Nylabone at, all for $5 admission per day.
Now, for my exciting news! had a lot of fun last weekend. I went to stay with another puppy raiser named Ellie Wroble (who is helping me write my DogBlog this week), and you will never guess what I did! I introduced a play called "Annie Pals: The Story of Auntie Ann and her Animals."The play is about the Annie Pals Pet Shop which is in danger of closing for good. The only chance to save the shop is in the paws of the animals that call the shop home. But what can they do? They’re only animals! Until they meet a magical mouse. With a little magic, will these animals be able to help their friend Auntie Ann and save their home?"Annie Pals" was a production of the Performing Arts Academy of Lakewood in conjunction with The “E” Project. "The “E” Project seeks to produce and provide and promote opportunities for all aspects of theatre, music, dance, and other performance and visual arts," according to their Web site. The story was actually written by the grandmother of one of the cast members, Brandy Wheeler. The directors, Deletta Hartkopp and Emily March, were fabulous. I asked them how The “E” Project is different from other theater companies. Emily said, “We like to involve the community at large, but also with our cast we really try to get parent involvement as well.”Deletta added, “The “E” Project offers extremely diverse theatrical offerings. Our youngest performers are people as young as 4. We also offer teen programs, adult programs and musicals. And I think we pride ourselves in a variety of scripts from original shows like "Annie Pals" to popular shows such as "Little Shop of Horrors."Darletta went on to say, "We love the opportunity to partner with organizations such as CCI!” Awww! That's where we came in, because Ellie talked to the audience about CCI, and I sat next to her and smiled at the audience.I like being on stage and a star! I am now an actor. Anyone know a director in Hollywood that could get me on the big screen? P.S. if you want my autograph, I’m here. I (of course) was adored by all the cast! The show was fun to watch, but there was this boy dressed as a bird that I still do not understand. He tried to talk to me in squawks! Everyone told me it was OK, but I was unsure. He didn't look like any of the other kids! Take a look at the slide show and you'll see what I mean. SCARY.Then, after Saturday's performance of "Annie Pals," Ellie and I went to a Chinese New Year celebration and watched a Lion Dance. Welcome to the Year of the Rat! (Turns out the Year of the Dog was 2006. Oh, well.) I fell in love with the lion that came up to me and batted her eyelashes. My favorite part was when the lions threw cabbage into the air; it went flying! I wanted to catch the cabbage, but Ellie wouldn’t let me. Spoil sport. The Lion Dance was put on by the Taikungha Holistic Fitness Center. Some of the things that the troop did were amazing. I’m sure I could not climb up a pole and then come down safely headfirst! And I am certain that I do not want anyone breaking two concrete blocks on my back. OUCH!Chow for now!ParkerQuestions or comments for Parker?
