DENVER -- The Metallica concert at Mile High Stadium in Denver was delayed nearly an hour due to lightning near Mile High Stadium Wednesday evening.

Video boards could be seen at the stadium displaying the following message:
"Skyview Weather Service has informed us of severe lightning activity in the Denver area. If you feel the need, take cover in a sheltered area. If necessary, public address announcements will be made with further instructions."

The Denver show is part of the band’s ‘WorldWired 2017’ tour to support the band’s new album, ‘Hardwired… To Self-Destruct,’ which was released in November.
The concert resumed at around 10:20 p.m., nearly an hour after it was put on a weather delay.
