Every weekend, Denver7 compiles a list of some family friendly events you might enjoy.  The forecast is calling for perfect weather to get outside and enjoy some of the favorite fall festivals. Here are our picks for the 7 best things to do in Denver this weekend.

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus: Out of This World

What: It’s that time of year again.  Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus is back in town to amaze children of all ages.   Experience this family tradition and be mesmerized by performers from around the globe perform daring feats, spectacles of strength and thrills of wonder.

Where:  Denver Coliseum, 4600 Humboldt Street, Denver, Colo.

When:  Friday – Sunday, various performance times (Weekends through Oct. 9th)

Oktoberfest Denver

What:  The party continues through this weekend, so grab your stein and head downtown to Oktoberfest Denver, which has been touted as “The Best Oktoberfest” in the United States by USA Today.  This Denver tradition since 1969 commemorates the world-famous and time-honored tradition of German heritage through live music and dance performances, bier-themed activities, and authentic German food. 

Where: Denver’s Historic Ballpark Neighborhood, on Larimer Street between 20th Street and 22nd Street, Denver, Colo.

When: Friday: 5 p.m.-2 a.m.; Saturday: 11 a.m.-2 a.m. and Sunday: 11 a.m.-5 p.m. 

Admission: Free (Food and beer available for purchase.)

Adventure Film Fest Street Fair

What:  Boulder’s own homegrown film festival kicks off this weekend, screening some of the most thrilling and inspiring independent adventure films of the year. And what better way to celebrate these films than with a street fair.  Whether you catch a flick or not, you can dance to live music, enjoy craft beer and gourmet food trucks, browse the vendor village and more, as the festivities will spill into the street in front of Boulder Theater.  And Saturday’s line-up will kick off with a free kids program featuring the beloved duo Jeff and Paige.

Where: Boulder Theater, 14th Street between Spruce and Pearl, Boulder, Colo.

When: Friday: 3 p.m.-10:30 p.m. and Saturday: 12 noon-10:30 p.m. (Kids program from 12noon-2 p.m.)

Admission: Street Fair is free to attend. (Adventure Film Fest tickets start at $15. Multi-film packages available.)

Cider Days

What:  Celebrate Lakewood’s agricultural heritage with an entertaining mix of live performances, activities and delicious harvest treats.  Enjoy fresh pressed cider and a mouth-watering apple bake-off, as well as a vintage tractor pull and historic demonstrations.  Plus, live music, barrel train rides and an interactive kid’s play area will make this festival enjoyable for the whole family.   

Where: Lakewood Heritage Center, 801 S. Yarrow Street, Lakewood, Colo.

When:  Saturday and Sunday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. 

Admission: $7 – Adults; $4 - Kids under 12 years

Pumpkin Harvest Festival

What:  You’ll find hot cider, scarecrows and pumpkins galore at the Four Mile Historic Park this weekend.  At this beloved annual event, you can build your own scarecrow, select the perfect pumpkin, dance to live music, make a craft and play carnival games.  And stay for the historic demonstrations and horse-drawn wagon rides, while enjoying favorite fall treats like cider, caramel apples and kettle corn. 

Where: Four Mile Historic Park, 715 S. Forest Street, Denver, Colo.

When:  Saturday and Sunday: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Harvest Farm Fall Festival & Corn Maze

What:  Get lost in the 10-acre corn maze at Harvest Farm.  And afterwards enjoy a multitude of family-friendly attractions including the hay bale maze, pig races, hay wagon rides, petting zoo, corn box wagons, corn cannons, pumpkin smash, evening campfires, food trucks, kettle corn and more.  It will be a full day of fun for the whole family.

Where: Harvest Farm, 4240 E. Country Road 66, Wellington, Colo.

When:  Saturday: 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday: 12 noon-6 p.m.  (Weekends through Oct. 30th)

Admission: $15 – Adults; $10 – Seniors; $13 – Kids 4-12 years; Kids 3 years and under are free.

Miner’s Blast

What:  This event is loaded with kid’s activities!  Admission allows you to sling the flying gourd, get spooked in the haunted house, lost in the straw maze, plus hayrides, inflatables, pedal cars, face painting, tractor pull, puppet show, petting zoo, crafts and more.  And each kiddo gets to pick out a free pumpkin on the way out.

Where: Coal Creek Park, 575 Kattell Street, Erie, Colo.

When: Saturday: 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Admission: $10 - Kids; Adults and Kids under 3 years are free.

Bonus Things To Do:  Castle Rock will be celebrating Oktoberfest-style Saturday afternoon in Wilcox Square; or hit the Pumpkin Fest at Golden’s Fairmont Park Saturday midday.  On Sunday, take the kids to the Not-So-Haunted House event happening at the Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys.
