Every weekend, Denver7 compiles a list of some family friendly events you might enjoy.  As Halloween creeps near, you are sure to find tricks and treats on every corner.  Corn mazes, pumpkin patches and haunted houses are open through next weekend.  And here are a few other spooky traditions that have made our list for the 7 best things to do in Denver this weekend.  

Thursday - Sunday

Maize in the City

What:  Get into the Halloween spirit at this favorite seasonal attraction.  Navigate your way through the 20+ acre Crazed Corn Maze. Pick out the perfect pumpkin with your family.  And enjoy other kid-friendly activities like bouncy castles, pony rides, a petting zoo and more.

Where: Maize in the City, 10270 Riverdale Road, Thornton, Colo.

When: Thursday - Friday: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Saturday - Sunday: 9 a.m.-6 p.m. (Daily through Oct. 31st)

Admission: Crazed Maze Tickets: $12 – Adults; $9 – Kids 5-12 years; Kids 4 years and under are free.

Boo at the Zoo 

What:  Dress in costume and visit over 25 trick-or-treat stations scattered throughout the zoo, watch creepy crawly animal demonstrations and enjoy other fun family-friendly entertainment. 

Where: Denver Zoo, 2300 Steele Street, Denver, Colo.

When:  Saturday and Sunday: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. (Weekends through Oct. 30th)

Admission: General Admission: $17 Adults; $12 Kids 3-11 years; Members and Kids 2 years and under are free.

Rocky Mountain Train Show

What:  All aboard!  The Rocky Mountain Train Show makes a stop in Loveland this weekend to impress train lovers of all ages.  Browse hundreds of tables of toy trains for sale and admire the working model train displays.  And be sure the kids visit the Kids Corner, which will be full of hands-on fun for the little conductors.

Where: The Ranch Complex, Larimer County Fairgrounds, 5280 Arena Circle, Loveland, Colo.

When: Saturday: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Admission: $7 – Adults; Kids under 12 years, Scouts in uniform and Active Duty Military are free.

Family Day at CU Museum of Natural History

What:  The theme of the day: Eating Archeology.  Explore how some of Colorado’s earliest inhabitants hunted and gathered food.  Plus you’ll get to grind your own corn, dig for artifacts and engage in other fun science and art activities suitable for the whole family.   

Where: University of Colorado Museum of Natural History, Henderson Building, 1030 Broadway, Boulder, Colo.

When: Saturday: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Denver Zombie Crawl

What:  Night does not need to fall for Zombies to be seen walking the downtown streets this weekend.  It’s the 11th Annual Denver Zombie Crawl.  This is an all ages, free event that includes live music, vendors, games, a costume contest and more. 

Where: Skyline Park, Downtown Denver, near 16th Street and Arapahoe, Denver, Colo.

When: Saturday: 12 p.m.-6 p.m.  (Zombie Parade starts at 4 p.m.)

Halloween Carnival

What: This annual event promises chills and thrills for all ages.  Come in costume to enjoy a night of carnival games, a haunted house, bouncy castles and more.    

Where:  Englewood Rec Center, 1155 W. Oxford Avenue, Englewood, Colo.

When:  Saturday: 5 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

Admission: Free (Game tickets purchased for 25 cents each.)

Trick-or-Treat Nature Trail

What:  Kids can get a jump start on the candy by strolling the Trick-or-Treat Nature Trail this Sunday.  Stop at interactive booths along the route, take part in a scavenger hunt and other family fun activities.

When:  Sunday: 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
