Friday- Sunday

Discover the Dinosaurs Unleashed

What: Journey back in time to when dinosaurs roamed the earth.  Wander this vast exhibit to experience up-close encounters with Stegosaurus, T-Rex and other life-like dinosaurs.  Kids can become junior paleontologists on a scavenger hunt, dig for fossils, and take a ride on the Jurassic Jeeps.  Plus, an Adventure Zone filled with bounce houses, crafts, mini golf and more.  It promises to be prehistoric fun for the whole family.

Where: Denver Mart, 451 E. 58th Avenue, Denver, Colo.  

When: Friday: 2 p.m.-8 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday: 9 a.m.-7 p.m.

Admission: $19 – General Admission Ages 2+ (Online ticket purchase is encouraged. Attend on Friday to get $5 off admission.)

The BigWonderful

What: Celebrate Colorado’s eclectic side at Denver’s most original urban pop-up festival.  This quarterly festival turns an otherwise vacant lot into a thriving weekend festival featuring good music, good beer and over 100 of the city’s most creative food, fashion and craft vendors. 

Where: The BigWonderful, 4400 Fox Street, Denver, Colo.

When:  Friday: 4 p.m.-10 p.m.; Saturday: 12 p.m.-10 p.m. and Sunday: 12 p.m.-6 p.m. 

Admission: General Admission tickets range from $5-10 depending on day and time. Beerfest tickets are an additional charge.  Kids 12 years and under are free. (Visit website for package pricing.)

Cinco de Mayo Festival

What: Spend the weekend immersed in the largest event of its kind in the U.S. celebrating the freedom and beauty of the Latino culture.  This fun family-friendly environment will feature special attractions, musical and cultural performances, plus delicious Mexican cuisine.  The Festival kicks off with a parade Saturday morning, and will include celebrated events like the taco eating contest, the beloved Chihuahua races, and more throughout the weekend.

Cherry Creek Fresh Market

What:  April showers bring May flowers, and the return of the weekend farmers markets.  The Cherry Creek Fresh Market opens its seasonal run this Saturday, with a high-quality mix of local growers and unique gourmet food vendors representing the best of the Rocky Mountain Region.  Visitors will also enjoy chef events, live music, and free parking during market hours.

Touch-A-Truck Event

What: Bring the kids to explore and climb on their favorite big rigs and meet some hometown heroes.  A fire engine, a sheriff’s car, an RTD bus, and even a Zamboni are among the vehicles that will fascinate kids of all ages.
