Every weekend, Denver7 compiles a list of some family friendly events you might enjoy.  This Mother’s Day weekend is filled with activities that will please every mom.  Here are our picks for the 7 best things to do in Denver this weekend.  

Friday - Sunday

Colorado Rockies vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

What: Our Rockies are home this weekend to take on the LA Dodgers. Treat mom to a ball game and watch the Blake Street Bombers take on the Dodgers. 

Where:  Coors Field, 2001 Blake Street, Denver, Colo.

When: Thursday and Friday: 6:40 p.m.; Saturday: 6:10 p.m.; and Sunday: 1:10 p.m.

Admission: Tickets start at $17 (Rockpile seats range $5-10 depending on day.)

Celestial Seasonings Factory Tour

What: Take mom out for tea this weekend.  A tour of Colorado’s very own Celestial Seasonings Factory that is.  Factory tours run every hour Monday through Sunday.  And every tour includes a whiff of the Mint Room, guaranteed to clear any stuffy nose.  Afterwards, be sure to visit the sampling bar with over 100 kinds of tea to taste.  Note that kids must be at least 5 years old to tour the factory floor.

Where: Celestial Seasonings, 4600 Sleepytime Drive, Boulder, Colo.

When:  MondaysSaturdays: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; and Sundays: 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Botanic Gardens Spring Plant Sale

What: Do you have a green thumb?  Well, you’ll enjoy free admission to the Denver Botanic Gardens this Friday and Saturday to shop this highly-anticipated annual sale.  From herbs and vegetables to seeds and flowers, shoppers will have over 85,000 plants to choose from and the chance to talk with the renowned horticulturists to find out which plants are best for your garden.  Bring your own wagon or cart to haul your plants.    

Where: Denver Botanic Gardens, 1007 York Street, Denver, Colo.

When: Friday: 8 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Colorado Chocolate Festival

What: Indulge mom with chocolates!   From chocolate candy, cakes and cookies to chocolate brownies, truffles and fudge, over 80 vendors will be sampling and selling their chocolate delights.   Plus, the festival will also feature workshop topics including chocolate and wine pairing and cooking with chocolate.     

Where: Denver Merchandise Mart, 451 E. 58th Avenue, Denver, Colo.

When: Friday: 4 p.m.-9 p.m.; and Saturday: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Admission: $5; Kids under 5 years are free.  (Tasting tickets are $10 for 12 tickets.)

Four Mile Historic Park Free Day

What: It’s a free day at the Four Mile Historic Park.  You’ll feel like you’ve traveled back in time as you wander this 1859 farm.  Pan for gold, meet the farm animals and more.   You can enjoy free admission at this Denver landmark on the second Friday of each month.

Horseshoe Craft and Flea Market

What: Flea market meets craft fair.  This boutique-like market is full of experienced and emerging vendors, making it Denver’s premier indie craft vintage market.  Browse over 130 art and antique vendors, food trucks, small-batch foods and “craft stations” where you can create your own unique item.  Kids will also enjoy face painting and other DIY activities.
