Holiday Tours at the Governor’s Mansion

What: Take a free tour of the Governor’s Residence that has been decorated inside and out for the holidays.  Set your own pace, and tour the entire main floor, including a peek into the Great Hall and the State Dining Room among others.  No reservations are required, but visitors will be admitted on a first come, first serve basis.     

Where: Boettcher Mansion, 400 E. 8th Avenue, Denver, Colo.

When: Thursday – Sunday: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.  (Tours start every 15-minutes)

Disney on Ice “Worlds of Enchantment”

What: The magic of Disney comes to life on ice, with all your favorite Disney friends, including Mickey and Minnie, Lightning McQueen and Mater, Woody and Buzz, Anna and Elsa and many more. There are several performance times throughout the weekend to entertain kids of all ages.

Where:  Pepsi Center, 1000 Chopper Circle, Denver, Colo.

Pavilions Holiday Carousel

What: Take a ride on the holiday carousel, which will take up residence at the Denver Pavilions beginning this weekend.  Adding to the splendor of the holiday season in Downtown Denver, this family-friendly attraction will bring smiles to faces of all ages.

Where: Denver Pavilions, Downtown Denver, 16th Street and Glenarm, Denver, Colo.

When: Open Daily: 11 a.m.-9 p.m. (Beginning Friday through Dec. 23rd)

Admission: $3 (Ride for free with any purchase from Denver Pavilions.)

Thornton WinterFest

What: This annual event transforms Carpenter Park Fields into Santa’s Village complete with elves, holiday lights and Santa himself.  A variety of fun winter activities will fill the weekend including ice skating, tree decorating, ice-carving demo, children’s crafts and entertainment, a holiday marketplace and more.  Food and drink will also be available for purchase.  And don’t miss the holiday fireworks that will light up the sky Saturday night.   

Where: Carpenter Park Fields, 108th Avenue and Colorado Blvd., Thornton, Colo.

When: Friday: 6:30 p.m.-9 p.m.; Saturday: 10 a.m.-9 p.m.; and Sunday: 5 p.m.-9 p.m. (Check website for schedule of events)

Admission: Free (Ice skating costs a nominal fee)

Longmont Lights and Parade

What: Celebrate the magic of the season in Longmont this weekend.  Friday night festivities include visits with Santa, holiday crafts, an ice skating show and exhibition hockey game, train rides, food trucks and more.  The evening will conclude with a fireworks show over Roosevelt Park.   And on Saturday, don’t miss the Lights Parade filled with marching bands, toy soldiers, ice castles, and of course, holiday lights.

Where: Roosevelt Park, 700 Longs Peak Avenue, Longmont, Colo.

When: Friday and Saturday: 5 p.m.-9 p.m.  (Parade starts at 5 p.m. Saturday)

Winter Fest on Fillmore

What:  Take a break from your holiday shopping and celebrate the season at this free, fun family event.  Fillmore Plaza will transform into a winter wonderland featuring live ice sculpting, holiday carolers, elves, music, giveaways and more.  Plus, enjoy holiday treats and warm beverages while you soak in the festive celebration.

Where: Cherry Creek North, Fillmore Plaza between 1st and 2nd Avenue, Denver, Colo.

When:  Saturday: 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Snow Much Fun

What:  Take the family for a stroll through Boulder’s Central Park, amid the more than 250,000 LED lights that illuminate the trees. And in addition to the lights this Saturday, enjoy a special Movie in the Park, The Polar Express. The festivities will kick off with a holiday sing-a-long lead by the favorite duo Jeff and Paige, plus free hot chocolate and train rides.     

Where: Central Park, 1236 Canyon Blvd, Boulder, Colo.

When:  Saturday: 4 p.m.-11 p.m.  (Entertainment and movie from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Lights on display nightly through Feb. 20th)
