Every weekend, Denver7 compiles a list of some family friendly events you might enjoy.  So this Easter weekend, sandwiched between the community egg hunts and checking your NCAA bracket, there are plenty of other activities to entertain your family.  Here are our picks for the 7 best things to do in Denver this weekend.

Disney on Ice “Treasure Trove”

What:  It’s a colossal party on ice with all your favorite Disney friends, including Mickey and Minnie, the Disney Princesses, Tinker Bell and Captain Hook, Woody and Buzz, and many more.  There are several performance times throughout the weekend to entertain kids of all ages.

Where:  Budweiser Events Center, 5290 Arena Circle, Loveland, Colo.

Chocolate: The Exhibition

What:  Tantalize your taste buds at this chocolatey exhibition at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science.  Explore the history and evolution of this sweet indulgence.  Entrance into the exhibit is included with your general admission ticket.

Where: Denver Museum of Nature & Science, 2001 Colorado Blvd., Denver, Colo.

When: Daily: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. (Exhibit runs through May 8th)

Denver March Powwow

What: Celebrate the American Indian heritage amongst 1,000 dancers and 43 drum groups from nearly 100 tribes from 37 states and five Canadian provinces.  Browse over 175 booths selling authentic American Indian arts and crafts.  Other attractions include traditional tribal storytelling, contemporary hip-hop dance and delicious Indian fry bread.

Where: Denver Coliseum, 4600 Humboldt Street, Denver, Colo.

When: Friday and Saturday: 10 a.m.-10:30 p.m.; Sunday: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

Admission: $7 – Adults; $3 – Seniors; Kids 6 years and under are free.

Bunny Express Train

What: All aboard the Bunny Express Train, featuring the 1880s vintage passenger coach that will give you a glimpse of what travel was like 100 years ago.  This annual spring tradition is fun the whole family can enjoy.   Also, the Easter Bunny and Spike the Railyard Hound will be on-hand giving out treats to the kids.   

Where: Colorado Railroad Museum, 17155 W. 44th Ave., Golden, Colo.

When:  Saturday: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Admission: $15 – Adults; $10 – Seniors; $5 – Kids 2-15 years; Members and Kids under 2 years are free.

Kids Day at Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum

What:  Perfect for the little pilots and astronauts of the future.  Not only will this educational event be filled with aerospace and aviation-themed activities, kids will get to do cool things like fly an R/C plane, sit in the pilot seat of some of the planes, explore the museum’s hidden secrets, watch a magic show, and much more. 

Where: Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum, 7711 E. Academy Blvd., Denver, Colo.

When: Saturday: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Bunny Trail

What: It’s an event blossoming with fun.  Kids can jump, hop and bounce between activities such as egg-dying, arts and crafts, tasty treats and visits with Truffles the bunny.

When: Saturday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Frozen Sing-A-Long

What: With another threat of spring snow this weekend, Saturday might be better spent indoors.  And what better way to spend a few hours than signing along with Anna and Elsa during a special screening of the beloved award-winning Disney film, Frozen.  There will be two showings on Saturday.
