Armie Hammer refused to consider Fifty Shades of Grey role
Actor ARMIE HAMMER rejected his agent's plans to put him forward for a role in the upcoming FIFTY SHADES OF GREY movie because he considers the erotic novel to be little more than "mummy porn".
The Social Network star has been among the names touted for the lead role of Christian Grey in a film adaptation of E. L. James' book, which is the first installment of a trilogy.
Hammer admits he hasn't been officially approached about the job, but he told his agent not to pursue the project.
He tells Playboy magazine, "No one actually offered me the movie, but while I was working on Lone Ranger my agent brought it up, and I said 'Nope.' I mean, come on - it's just mommy porn.
"I'm not going to sit on top of the laundry machine in spin cycle reading about putting a ball gag in someone's mouth. That doesn't do it for me."
