WASHINGTON - Beyoncé lip-synced her performance of the National Anthem on Inauguration Day, according to an inauguration official.
The anonymous official told CNN on Wednesday that Beyoncé, "did not sing live."
A pre-recorded rendition of the song was what spectators and viewers heard, the official told CNN.
The pop star made the decision to record her performance Sunday night because she arrived so late that she didn't have enough time to rehearse with the U.S. Marine Band, reported the cable network.
Beyoncé recorded her part of the song separately from the band and it was later married with the band's music, the official said.
