Here are our picks for the weekend of Oct. 5-7
All Weekend Long
Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta
What: See hot air balloons aloft and aglow plus fireworks and concerts.
Where: Balloon Fiesta Park, Albuquerque, N.M.
When: See event schedule
Admission: Tickets per session are $8 for ages 13 and up. Children 12 and under are free. Parking is $10 per session.

Friday and Saturday
"Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad"
What: See the show about the boy who is having a really bad day, like everyone has sometimes. Based on the book by Judith Viorst, the show encourages kids to share their feelings.
Where: PACE Center, 20000 Pikes Peak Ave., Parker, Colo.
When: Friday: 10 a.m.-12 p.m., 12 p.m.-2 p.m.
Saturday: 2 p.m.-4 p.m.
Admission: $5 and up

Apple Day
What: Celebrate the apple harvest with treats, an antique car show and parade.
Where: Crossroads of Hwy 50 and Hwy 115., Penrose, Colo.

The Fall Horseshoe Craft and Flea Market
What: This one-of-a-kind, art, craft, vintage and design market features over 110 vendors from Denver and across Colorado. This event will also have fresh flowers, pumpkins and live music.

Cultivate Festival
What: Chipotle Mexican Grill is throwing a big party in City Park this October, including cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs, live music, food artisans and other activities emphasizing fresh and affordable food. Entertainment will be provided by indie rock favorites Okkervil River and Best Coast.
