Oprah's coming to town this weekend and she has already checked out a local charity that is going to benefit from her Angel Network.

On Saturday, Oprah will present the Center for Work Education and Employment, or CWEE, with a $25,000 check.

CWEE has been around since 1982 and has helped thousands of people get off welfare and go to work, people like Maria Zamora.

"I've always wanted to be an office manager. I always wanted to be in charge of something, and now here you are and here I am," Zamora said.

Zamora has found her dream job at Professional Hearing Services but it wasn't so long ago that she was down on her luck.

"I had no job and I was struggling with my six kids. I'm a single parent, and at that point, I had no choice but to go on public assistance," said Zamora.

And she was embarrassed. But with the help of CWEE, she got on track and off assistance.

"When someone comes in, we look at their needs, their issues, their obstacles, their goals, and we set a plan," said CWEE's executive director Laurie Harvey.

And Zamora's plan just keeps on growing. Now she's learning another skill as assistant audiologist.

CWEE has changed her life.

"I had no self esteem. I had no friends, and I thought I wasn't worth nothing," said Zamora. "Now I know who I am and I know what I want to do."

CWEE has thousands of success stories like Zamora's. They don't know how Oprah heard about them, but they are thrilled and anxious to put the $25,000 to good use on their programs.
