The Movie
Set in Japan during the 1870s, "The Last Samurai" tells the story of Capt. Nathan Algren (Cruise), an American military officer hired by the Emperor of Japan to train the country's first army in the art of modern warfare.
As the government attempts to eradicate the ancient Samurai warrior class in preparation for more Westernized and trade-friendly policies, Algren finds himself unexpectedly affected by his encounters with the Samurai.
Suddenly in the center of a struggle between two eras and two worlds, Algren has only his own sense of honor to guide him.
Directed by Edward Zwick ("Glory," "Legends of the Fall"), "The Last Samurai" also stars Timothy Spall, Billy Connolly, Tony Goldwyn, Ken Watanabe, Hiroyuki Sanada and Koyuki.
"The Last Samurai" opens in theaters nationwide Dec. 5.
The Contest

The contest runs Nov. 14 through Dec. 14. Contest winners will be selected at random. The winners' names and cities of residence will be posted on the @ The Movies contest winners' page.
