"American Idol" Season 2 runner-up Clay Aiken is a new dad, according to TMZ.com.

The celebrity gossip site said that Aiken's mother called into a Raleigh, N.C., television station to announce that a boy, named Parker Foster Aiken, was born Friday morning.

Aiken's companion, 50-year-old Jaymes Foster, gave birth to the baby Friday morning. The baby reportedly weighs 6 lbs., 2 oz. and is 19 inches in length.

Faye Aiken, the singer's mother, told the station that her son, 29, is "smiling from ear-to-ear."

In May, "Access Hollywood" reported that Foster was artificially inseminated.

Foster is the sister of music producer David Foster. The show said that Jaymes Foster was previously married for 23 years, but had no children.

The show added that Aiken and Foster live together in Los Angeles. The pair reportedly met when Aiken was on "American Idol."

TMZ said that Aiken and Foster will raise the child together.
