LOS ANGELES -- Kristi Yamaguchi now has an Olympic gold medal -- and a mirrorball trophy. The figure skater has won ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" competition and appeared on "Good Morning America" Wednesday morning along with her fellow finalists to talk and dance. She topped fellow finalist and pro football star Jason Taylor in the combined tally of the judges' scoring and viewer votes. Yamaguchi is the first woman to win on the popular reality series since the very first season, when Kelly Monaco took the trophy.
The figure skater was paired with professional dancer Mark Ballas, who was back on the show this season after pairing with Sabrina Bryan of the Cheetah Girls last year. Yamaguchi said winning Season 6 is just the "icing on the cake." She adds doing the show was a "dream experience." Runner-up Taylor said that he had the time of his life taking part in the dance competition.Other competitors this season included Priscilla Presley, Oscar winner Marlee Matlin, magician Penn Jillette, actress Shannon Elizabeth and "Hairspray" Tony Award winner Marrisa Jaret Winokur.
