List Of Fireworks Displays, Fourth Of July Celebrations For 2008

The following is a list of communities and their activities for the July 4th holiday. We will keep this list updated. If you have further information to add to this list, or see a correction that needs to be made, please send an e-mail to newstips@TheDenverChannel.com. Most firework displays are on Friday, July 4th, unless otherwise noted.

ALAMOSA
  • Fireworks begin at dark at Alamosa Fairgrounds on Friday, July 4th. The parade down Main Street will begin at 10 a.m.

ARVADA
  • Fireworks kick off at 9 p.m. on Friday, July 4th at the Lutz/Stenger Sports Complex located just west of Kipling on W. 58th Avenue. The fireworks are set to a musical simulcast on KOOL 105.1. Festivities begin at 3 p.m. Call 720-898-7400, or go to ArvadaFestivals.com for more information. There will be lots of family fun which include games, an obstacle course for kids, temporary tattoos, food concessions, and entertainment all day. KOOL 105 will be hosting a classic car show. Parking will be on a first come first serve basis beginning at 2 p.m. No parking will be allowed on Kipling Street.
  • Please remember that fireworks, alcohol and pets are not allowed in the Lutz/Stenger Sports Complex.

ASPEN
  • Fireworks at 9:15 p.m. over Aspen Mountain. Show moved to golf course because of fire danger. The Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration and Parade will be taking place all day, call 970-925-1940 or visit the Aspen Chamber of Commerce's Web site for more information.

AURORA
  • Fireworks will be launched 9:30 p.m. at the Aurora Municipal Center lawn and can be viewed within a two mile radius. The 25-minute professional firework display can be seen on Friday, July 4, on the lawn at East Alameda Avenue and Chambers Road. Live entertainment by the Aurora Symphony Orchestra will begin at 6:30 p.m., there will also be other walk around entertainment as well as food and beverages. There will be a concert at 8:15 p.m. by the United States Air Force Academy Concert Band. AVON
  • At 9:45 p.m. THURSDAY, July 3, fireworks will be launched over beautiful Nottingham Lake. The fireworks extravaganza is choreographed to a musical score simulcast on 97.7 KZYR. Kids events begin at 5:30 p.m. This year the band Black hawk will be providing entertainment who will be performing at the Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa. BASALT
  • Boogie's Diner Buddy 5-Mile race celebrates it's 35th year. The race will begin at Boogie's Diner at Cooper Street and Hunter Street. To learn more go to The Buddy Program website.

BLACK HAWK
  • Fireworks will begin at sundown. You can watch at any point in Black Hawk and the show will last about 30 minutes. More info at CityofBlackHawk.org or call 303-582-2235.

BOULDER
  • Fireworks spectacular at Folsom Field at the University of Colorado. Fireworks, choreographed to live music, begin at 9:30 p.m. Gates open at 7 p.m. and admission to the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour and fireworks display is free. Other entertainment will be provided by the Skip-Its Jump Rope Team and the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra. For more information, go to City of Boulder

BRECKENRIDGE
  • The fireworks display will begin at 9:30 p.m. and can be viewed from the Riverwalk Center Lawn or anywhere around downtown Breckenridge. BROOMFIELD
  • Great American Picnic and Fireworks Extravaganza will be held at Broomfield County Commons, located at 132nd and Sheridan. Kids activities start at 5 which include carnival games and inflatables, concert from the Funkiphino Band at 7. Fireworks at 9:15 p.m. For additional information, call (303)-464-5530.

BRUSH

BUENA VISTA
  • Fireworks will begin at the Rodeo grounds on County Road 321 at dusk. For more information call (719) 395-6612 or go to Buena Vista Chamber of Commerce .
  • The parade will begin at 10 a.m. followed by children's activities and entertainment and food including pie slices by the Young at Heart. All events will take place on July 4.

BYERS
  • They will be having one of the largest open rodeos in the state of Colorado on July 4. The rodeo is at 4 p.m. and then the fireworks at dusk. Celebration is at the Quint Valley rodeo grounds about 40 miles east of Denver on I-70.

CANON CITY
  • TYPICALLY -- There will be a July 4th Celebration with fireworks at Royal Gorge Bridge and Park. In town, there will also be fireworks at Skyline drive. Contact the city's Chamber of Commerce office at (719)-275-2331.

CARBONDALE
  • Independence Day Celebration on July 4. There will be a parade, family activities, BBQ, and kids activities. Fireworks will begin at 9 p.m. at North Face Park. To learn more, go to http://www.carbondalegov.org/.

CASTLE ROCK
  • The Castle Rock Liberty Festival will be held at Rhyolite Regional Park. It's a holiday helping of family fun with kids events, live entertainment and of course, a fireworks show. COLORADO SPRINGS
  • Fourth of July Celebrations will take place on July 4th in Memorial Park, located on the southeast corner of Hancock Avenue and Pikes Peak Boulevard. Fireworks begin at dusk. Memorial Park will be closed starting at 5 p.m. Live music with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic Orchestra and other celebrations begin at 8 p.m. Grills are discouraged in the park but picnics are welcome. COMMERCE CITY
  • On Friday, July 4, events will be held at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. The fireworks will start after the Rapids game. Kickoff for the Colorado Rapids face off against the New York Red Bulls at 7:30 p.m. Food, kid's activities, a beer garden, and live bands will start at 5 p.m.

CORTEZ
  • Celebrations on the Fourth of July will begin at dark in City Park on North Mildred. Call 719-565-3414 for more info.

CREEDE
  • Festivities begin with a parade down Main Street at 10:00 am on the 4th, followed by games at the Ball Park. There will be vendor booths and plenty of places to shop. CRESTED BUTTE
  • July 4th Celebration at Jorgensen Park will be presented by the Chamber of Commerce. The 4th of July Parade will begin at 11 a.m. Live music and food will be followed by fireworks at dark. For more info, go to GCBCalendar.com

CRIPPLE CREEK
  • Residents of the gold camp have always loved to celebrate the Fourth of July. This year the 4th and 5th of July will have festivities. Food and craft vendors will open at 11 a.m. The 2008 event will feature a massive fireworks display, beginning at dark, choreographed to music. It will held at City Park and admission to both days is free. For more information, call (719) 689-3461.

DEER TRAIL
  • Deer Trail is one community that puts on a great display. The fireworks will begin at dusk on July 4 at the Rodeo grounds.

DELTA
  • The Paonia Cherry Days Celebration will be from June 30th through July 4 take. Then on the 4th, there will be the Delta City fireworks which are set to go off at dusk. For more information call 874-8616 or click here.

DENVER

  • Fireworks at Invesco Field at Mile High on Friday, July 4 following Outlaws Lacrosse game.
  • Blues Traveler Concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The concert begins at 5 p.m. Red Rocks provides a good view of the fireworks show downtown. For more information contact: 303-830-TIXS.
  • The 18th Annual Cherry Creek Arts Festival will be taking place July 4-6. The arts festival weekend event is a world-class and award-winning celebration of the visual, culinary and performing arts. The CCAF is located in Denver’s Cherry Creek North Business District, from 2nd to 3rd, on the six streets starting on Clayton through Steele. Fireworks will be on Saturday, July 5, at 9:30 p.m. Best viewing is from 1st Avenue at Fillmore Plaza. Learn more at CherryArts.org.

DILLON
  • There are a wide array of events in Dillon for Independence Day. At 1 p.m., children’s bike decorating which will be followed by a parade in Dillon Town Park. There will also be a watermelon seed spitting contest along with other food and entertainment. At 9:30 p.m. there will be a firework Display over Dillon Reservoir.

DURANGO
  • The July 4 holiday festivities will begin with the Freedom Fun Run/Walk, presented by Parks and Recreation beginning at 9 a.m. sharp and starting from Rotary Park. This event has no entry fee. The evening events are all on Main Avenue and begin with the Stars and Stripes Parade at 6 p.m. Topping off the 4th of July celebration will be the salute-to-America fireworks display from 9:15 to 9:45 p.m. The show boasts over 2,200 charges and lasts nearly a half-hour. Find many great locations in town for viewing.

EDGEWATER
  • Fireworks will be set off on Thursday July 3 at Citizens Park at 24th and Chase St. Vendors will begin serving drinks and food at 4 p.m. Fireworks will begin around 8:30 or 9 p.m. For more information, go to www.edgewaterco.com or call call 303-238-7803.

ENGLEWOOD
  • Fireworks display will be launched from the baseball fields at Cornerstone Park at 9:30 p.m. on July 4th and can be seen from Belleview, Progress and Cornerstone Parks. ERIE
  • Fireworks wil be shot off at Vista Ridge Golf Club on Thursday July 3. For more information about Vista Ridge's Independence Day Spectacular call 303-665-2732 or visit VistaRidgeGC.com.
  • Erie will also be holding the first annual 4K run/walk. The race will begin at 8 a.m. at the community recreation center and is open to ages 13 and more. Call (303)-926-2793.

ESTES PARK
  • Independence Day Fireworks. One of Colorado's most brilliant fireworks displays over Lake Estes. The event is free and will begin at 9:30 p.m. The Town of Estes Park is providing free summer shuttle service throughout the downtown area, into Rocky Mountain National Park with stops around the Estes Valley. FIRESTONE
  • 4th At Firestone: A Centennial Celebration will be held Friday, July 4th beginning with a pancake breakfast at 7 a.m. Festivities such as a 5K race, balloon rides, food and entertainment will run all day at Miner's Park at 151 Grant Avenue. FORT CARSON
  • The Celebration will occur Tuesday July 3, beginning at 4 p.m. at Iron Horse Park. Day ends with 20-minute fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

FORT COLLINS
  • Fireworks begin at dusk at City Park 1599 City Park Drive. July 4th will kick off in Old Town Square and Civic Center Park at 11 a.m. with petting zoos, live music all day, beer gardens, wagon rides, and much much more! For more information, go to DowntownFortCollins.com.

FORT LUPTON
  • Fireworks begin at dusk on July 4. The display will take place south of the Safeway Complex and east of the community recreation center. There will be parking nearby. For more information call 303-857-6694.

FRASER
  • Display will begin at dusk on Friday at the Fraser Sports Complex which is 1/2 mile north of Fraser at 220 County Road 514. FRISCO
  • Frisco's Fabulous Fireworks are set to go off at 9:30 p.m. on July 4th over Lake Dillon, with best views at Frisco Bay Marina with a simulcast on Krystal 93.9 FM. GEORGETOWN
  • Georgetown offers a great firework experience on July 4th at dusk. View the show from Georgetown Lake or City Park. There's always plenty of room and plenty of parking. Take I-70, exit 228.

GLENDALE
  • Fireworks are scheduled for Saturday, July 5th at dusk. The fireworks site is Creekside Park and families will be viewing at the Park, on office building lawns, in parking lots and from local streets. GLENWOOD SPRINGS
  • Fireworks on Friday, July 4. Fireworks will be shot out of the Community Center at dark, beginning at dark. The best views are at Two Rivers Park. You can also watch at the sparkling Glenwood Springs 4th of July fireworks display from the warm mineral waters at the Hot Springs Pool. More info at GlenwoodChamber.com or call 970-945-6589.

GOLDEN
  • Fireworks begin at dark on Friday, July 4 at Lions Park, located 10th and Maple Streets. The Golden Lions Club will sponsor the day's activities at Lions Park. Park in the outlying parking lots to avoid the congestion on 10th St. after the fireworks. Entertainment will be provided all day from various bands. GOODLAND, KANSAS
  • Fireworks and Freedom Fest on July 4th at Sherman County Fairgrounds on North Main. Begins at 5:30 p.m. with carnival rides. Free watermelon feed at 6:00. 4H leaders will have food available for purchase, 6:30 p.m. free concert by Willie Mack. One hour after dusk, they will have the largest fireworks display in Northwest Kansas.

GRANBY
  • Granby will host the "largest small town parade" according to Grandby's Chamber of Commerce beginning at 10:30 a.m. Fireworks over the rodeo grounds on Saturday, July 5 after the rodeo. It can be seen best from the rodeo grounds but you can park comfortably from many areas nearby and see the amazing display. To learn more go to GranbyChamber.com.

GRAND LAKE

GREELEY
  • Greeley Independence Stampede -- a Rodeo and Western Celebration. There will be fireworks following the concert on Friday July 4th. For more information call (800) 982-BULL or log onto GreeleyStampede.org. It has become a tradition to spend the 4th of July at Island Grove Park.

GREEN VALLEY RANCH
  • Fireworks on Friday, July 4 at the Amphitheater and Plaza at Oakwood Homes area. There will be food, music and fun. To learn more, go to GVRCO.com.

GUNNISON
  • Fireworks will go off at dusk at Jorgensen Park on Friday, July 4th. Fun activities and events will take place at downtown Gunnison along with food and vendors. HIGHLANDS RANCH
  • Fireworks will set off at 9:30 p.m. at the Intersection of Highlands on Ranch Parkway and Blake Drive. on the 4th. For more information call 303-791-2500. For more info, click here. There will also be a parade, kiddie rides, events for pets and concerts.

IDAHO SPRINGS
  • The Old Fashioned 4th of July will take place Friday the 4th. There will fireworks over Charlie Tayler Waterwheel around 9 p.m. For more information call 303-567-4421. More info at IdahoSpringsCo.com.

INDIAN HILLS
  • The Indian Hills Fire Rescue will host a July 4th Celebration with fireworks at dusk, approximately 9:20 p.m. Stage show at 6 p.m. at the helipad, with entertainment and bands. The whole day starts at 7 a.m. with a pancake breakfast and a parade at 10 a.m. To get to the celebration in Indian Hills take Hwy 285 south to Parmalee Gulch Rd. go right on Parmalee 3 miles to Firehouse. KEYSTONE
  • This year's firework display will be held at the Lakeside Village. Prior to the display there will be music and other entertainment including food, beverages and kid's activities. For more information go to target="new">Keystone.snow.com.

KREMMLING
  • Fire Up the Cliffs 4th of July Celebration. Join us for a spectacular fireworks displays off the landmark Kremmling Cliffs which starts at dark. Live music and a BBQ in the Kremmling Town Square begins at 6 p.m. Admission to the event and fireworks is free. All activities and excellent firework viewing takes place in Town Square Park. Kremmling is located 97 miles northwest of Denver (where Highway 9 from Silverthorne and Highway 40 from Winter Park intersects.) LAMAR
  • LAST YEAR -- Public display at Prowers County Fairground.

LA JUNTA
  • The Bent's Old Fort parade will begin at 1 p.m. and will include food and beverages. Fireworks will be held at the town's rodeo grounds beginning at dusk and is free to the public. Learn more on the city's Web site.

LEADVILLE
  • Leadville 4th of July Celebrations: The July 4th Parade will kick the festivities off at 10 a.m. Then find your way to sloppyjoes on the courthouse lawn where you can witness local entertainment while having your face painted. Enjoy Dennis Michael's Comedy Magic Show before you try your luck at the 3-legged race among many other all-time favorites. Save room for pie. There will be a pie eating contest. The Hip Replacements will stop by for a free concert. Of course the fireworks will commence at dusk.

LITTLETON
  • Fourth of July Festivities on Friday, July 4. A spectacular fireworks show will be launched from the baseball fields at Cornerstone Park. Other activities will take place at Belleview, Cornerstone and Progress Parks (near South Windermere and West Belleview Avenues.) Food concessions will be available. LONE TREE
  • Residents from Lone Tree and Acres Green are invited to attend Lone Tree's 11th annual Independence Day Celebration, featuring the City's fourth annual Firecracker 5K Run, community parade, live entertainment, activities for kids, local food vendors and spectacular fireworks show. Wristbands are required to enter the Celebration at Sweetwater Park. These wristbands can be purchased on July 2 and 3. LONGMONT
  • Celebrate the 4th of July with the wonderful music of the Longmont Symphony Orchestra at Thompson Park at noon. Public display of fireworks at Boulder County Fairgrounds, 9595 Nelson Road, will take place at 9:30 p.m. Call 303-651-8437 or click here for more information.

LOUISVILLE

LOVELAND
  • Independence Day Fireworks Display over at North Lake Park located at 29th and Taft beginning at 9:17 p.m., following 8 p.m "Star Spangled Spectacular" concert. Visitors to the July 4th Festival are urged to bicycle or walk to the park as parking will be limited to paid car parking in the lots at Loveland High School or on-street parking in surrounding neighborhoods.   • Take part in Meeker's July 4 Range Call and the oldest annual rodeo in Colorado! There will be a barn dance, bank robbery re-enactment, pro rodeo, July 4th parade and fireworks. To learn more go to TownOfMeeker.org or RangeCall.com.

MANITOU SPRINGS
  • The firework display location has been changed for 2008. The event will now take place at Higginbotham Flats off of Hwy 24. The fireworks will be launched between 9 and 10 p.m. This annual Fourth of July Holiday tradition is put on by the Manitou Springs Volunteer Fire Department and is visible from downtown. MONUMENT, PALMER LAKE and TRI-LAKES AREA
  • There are activities from Dawn to past Dusk -- it's a great place to stay all day for the good old time flavor of the 4th. There's a funrun, a pancake breakfast, a parade and fireworks! Fireworks will be at Palmer Lake. Go to PalmerLakeFireworks.com for more information. Monument is almost in between Denver and Colorado Springs west off Highway I-25.

MORRISON
  • Fireworks Display at Bandimere Speedway on Friday, July 4. Gates open at 3 p.m. Discount tickets are available at Big O Tires locations and advance tickets can be purchased at White Fence Farm, Mardel, and the Bandimere Speedway's Box Office. Day begins with at 3 p.m. with qualifying racing, rides, live music and contests.

NORTHGLENN
  • Fireworks Display at 9:30 p.m. over Webster Lake at E.B Rains Jr. Memorial Park, 117th Avenue and Community Center Drive (S.E corner of 120th and I-25.) Hazel Miller Band will be performing prior to the display. Call 303-450-8935 for more information or go to Northglenn.org.

OURAY
  • Ouray, Colorado will have its huge annual fireworks display just after dusk on July 4th. Launched from just above the town on the first southern switchback of Hwy 550, viewers have a canopy of explosions overhead paired with the canyon-created echoes of the bursts. "It's a seriously great time," a viewer says.

PAGOSA SPRINGS
  • The Town of Pagosa Springs will grace the skies over Pagosa Country with fireworks display. Fireworks will be at the football field by the Pagosa Springs High School. Show starts when it gets dark, approximately 9PM. There is also a 4th of July parade beginning at 10am on the 4th. It runs through the heart of town. Click here to learn more.

PARKER
  • Let Freedom Sing Celebration, including a professional fireworks show is on July 4 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the East side of Town Hall at 20120 E. Mainstreet. Parking will cost $5. PUEBLO
  • LAST YEAR -- Fireworks at 9:15 p.m. at Hasan Amphitheater, at CSU-Pueblo. Parking on campus available for a nominal fee. To learn more go to Pueblo.us.

RIFLE
  • There will be a children's parade beginning at 10 a.m. leaving from City Hall. There will be children's activities including three legged racing and watermelon seed spitting at Hines. Fireworks presented by the Rifle Fire Department are set to go off between 8:30 and 9 p.m. at the high school.

SALIDA
  • Festivities will begin at 1 p.m. in Riverside park. The parade on F street will begin at 4 p.m. and fireworks will follow from Tenderfoot Mountain at dusk. SILVERTON
  • Fireworks display to be set off by the Silverton San Juan Volunteer Fire Department above Shrine Hill. It is largest fireworks display on the Western Slope. Donations accepted. Shrine Road will be closed to spectators. Call 970-387-5522 or click here for more information.

SNOWMASS VILLAGE
  • On Saturday, July 5, there's a frees sunset concert and fireworks by rhythm & blues trailblazer Mavis Staples, a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer considered one of VH1’s "100 Greatest Women of Rock & Roll." It begins at 7 p.m. on Fanny Hill, followed by fireworks. For more information, go to SnowmassVillage.com.

SOUTH FORK
  • Fireworks at the Flag Hill at the Rio Grand Club at 9:30 p.m. Other events for the day include a parade, street dance and a Kiwanis Chili Dinner Call South Fork Visitors Center at (800) 571-0881 to learn more.

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS

WELLINGTON
  • Fireworks will be shot on July 4th at dusk in the open field across Wellington Jr. High School. There will also be a parade on Cleveland Avenue in downtown Wellington beginning at 10 a.m. and a Northern Colorado car and truck show starting at 11 a.m. There will be games and entertainment at the Family Fun Fest at Library Park. WESTMINSTER

  • Fireworks start at 9:15 p.m., on July 4 at Eastman Park on 7th Street and Eastman Park Drive.

WINTER PARK
