Long Lines At Invesco Frustrate Fans

Parking Rates Also Mile-High

People anxious to see Sen. Barack Obama's speech at Invesco Field at Mile High faced long lines and more than a two-hour wait.

One viewer told 7NEWS "it is chaos, and my family who are in that line say it's getting very, very tense."

At 7 p.m., the estimated wait time was still two hours. With Obama's speech scheduled for 8 p.m., some wondered if they would miss the speech.

More than 76,000 people are expected to pack the stadium for the speech, and each must go though airport-style security screenings.

Parking near the stadium was difficult because the usual parking at Invesco was blocked for the news media and law enforcement vehicles.

Nearby lots increased their rates. One lot charged $80 for parking.

RTD provided shuttles to Invesco to help get excited ticket holders to the field, but people still had to wait in long lines that stretched for almost a mile.
