Bombing Survivor Calls McVeigh 'Sociopath'

Victims React To Excerpt From Book

Survivors of the Oklahoma City bombing reacted Thursday to the portions of the book about Timothy McVeigh that came to light. Priscilla Salyers was in the building during the attack, and Edye Stowe lost her sons Chase and Colton in the bombing. Priscilla Salyers, bombing survivor Video Bombing Survivors React To McVeigh Book "I fell from the 5th floor to the pit, and was buried for four-and-a-half hours and only able to move my left arm," Salyers (pictured, left) said. She said that she had hoped that the book, written by two reporters from Buffalo, N.Y., would finally reveal information that might help people heal. But after reading excerpts, she realized that was never the intent. "I don't even want to believe a word in it," she said. "I feel like he is using this as a tool to attack us again." She urged people not to give the book a second thought, because that would be a waste of time, energy and emotion. "He's going to hurt a lot of people, there's gonna be a lot of pain and anger, but I refuse to let his words pierce me. I'm not going to let him still control my life," she said. Edye Stowe Edye Stowe (pictured, right) who lost her sons Chase and Colton, feels the same way. "I'm disgusted with Tim McVeigh," she said. "I think he's a liar and I think his book is a joke." She thinks that McVeigh knew that there were children in the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, and that he just didn't care. "I think that Tim McVeigh is a sociopath. I don't think he has a conscience and I don't think it would've mattered to him either way if there were children in the building," she said. "I think he would've done it if there were nothing but children in the building." She said that the book is all about fame. "He wants to be the center of attention, and this is the sixth anniversary of the bombing coming up. This should be our loved ones' time of recognition, and everytime you turn on the news it's Tim McVeigh," she said. "It's all about him, and I'm sure he loves that."
